Description and application of the HW chuck.
The HW type chuck is recessed in the work table establishing greater rigidity for the item gripping system. It is usually used on special swarf remover machines, so as to block the item with maximum precision during the work phase. In order to have perfect interchangeability of the chuck on board the machine, and item gripper jaws, we carry out final truing and height grinding operations with the chuck assembled and with pressure at the same number of bar required by the customer. This also allows real work conditions to be simulated better.
The chuck also provides for scraper and clearance adjustment systems to prevent or limit the ingress of foreign bodies. For machining of particularly insidious material a forced pressurised system can be provided to prevent the entry of dirt through the centre or side plate.
