Description and application of the three jaw M chuck.
The chuck is made in the steel or aluminium version to meet the applications needs of the customer.
The M type three jaw chuck, is based on the two jaw M chuck and differs from it in the following:
- number of jaws - the piston - the gib - the base flange.
The three jaw chuck is normally used for machining or manipulating round items and moreover in all those cases where three point clamping is required.
In order to have perfect interchangeability of the chuck on board the machine, and item gripper jaws, we carry out final truing and height grinding operations with the chuck assembled and with pressure at the same number of bar required by the customer. This also allows real work conditions to be simulated better.
The chuck also provides for scraper and clearance adjustment systems to prevent or limit the ingress of foreign bodies. For machining of
particularly difficult material a forced pressurised system can be provided to prevent the entry of dirt through the centre or side plate.
